Projects. MICRONANOSPAIN

Spanish Competence Centre for Microelectronics

MicroNanoSpain is the proposed competence Center for the Spanish Semiconductor & microelectronics ecosystem.
The MicroNanoSpain Competence Center seeks to strengthen and expand Spain’s semiconductor and microelectronics sector by offering an integrated platform that combines national and European expertise in micro- and nano-manufacturing, design, and research. This initiative unites a wide array of stakeholders, including research institutes, design centers, universities, and ecosystem organizations, to establish a central hub for capability sharing and knowledge dissemination. The center is organized around three core pillars: Capacities, Competences & Skills, and Knowledge Transfer.
The Capacities pillar consolidates resources like the MICRONANOFABS network, which drives advanced research and industrial innovation through micro- and nanofabrication infrastructure. It also links to EU pilot lines and integrates design expertise from academic institutions and private companies, supporting a variety of semiconductor-related activities.
The Competences & Skills pillar emphasizes training and workforce development, offering an extensive range of education and training programs tailored to the evolving needs of the semiconductor industry.
The Knowledge Transfer pillar features a Venture Builder to aid startups and an Open Innovation hub that promotes collaboration within the ecosystem. These components ensure the ongoing growth and sustainability of Spain’s semiconductor industry.
